BIO

Born and raised in Grand Falls, NL, Paddy started playing electric bass in local cover bands before making the move in 2005 to St. John's to pursue a degree in music at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Upon completion of the degree Paddy played with numerous bands such as Steve Maloney & The Wandering Kind, Repartee, Brianna Gosse, Alex Bridger, and Matthew Hornell & The Diamond Minds; the latter of which won four Music NL awards at the annual conference in 2010. Paddy has been fortunate to tour throughout Canada, the US, and abroad as well as getting the opportunities to play in dinner theaters, musicals, orchestras, big bands, and circuses'. In 2011 Paddy returned to MUN to pursue a degree in Music Education which led him on the path to private and substitute teaching. Paddy currently teaches from his home studio, Paddy Byrne Music Studio, while also continuing to perform, and substitute with the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District.
